Chicago August 25 – The Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA) is cosponsoring a world class Halal food conference on September 8th and 9th. The conference will be the first of its kind to be held in Durban South Africa. The theme of the conference will be “HALAL: A Symbol of Quality and Purity.” The reason for selecting South Africa is that S. Africa has a booming Halal food production environment. Although the Muslim population of the country is only about one million, most of the slaughter houses are under the control of various Halal certification organizations.
The conference will feature speakers from many Muslim countries as well as U.S.A, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Topics to be discussed during the conference include important issues like import regulations, Halal certification programs, and the concept of quality and purity in Islam. Food industry professionals, professors, students, government officials, exporters, importers, and food distributors are invited to participate in this conference.
The Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America is an international Halal consulting and certification organization based in the United States of America.
