CHICAGO, Illinois (February 4, 2019) – The Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA®) and Krona Therapeutics, Inc. are proud to announce the halal certification of Krona’s Natavi™ supplements for women.

Halal certification was granted after a thorough review of the ingredients, production process, packaging, and logistics, and meeting with plant personnel demonstrated Krona’s commitment to adhering to the certification requirements. IFANCA halal-certified products qualify to display the IFANCA registered Crescent-M service mark, letting consumers know the product meets their Islamic dietary requirements.

Krona desires to offer mothers the best opportunity to deliver healthy babies through its Natavi™ line of products. Natavi™ Prima provides nutrients for women who are planning to become pregnant, Natavi™ PNV provides nutrients while they are pregnant, and Natavi™ Lactant provides nutrients for breastfeeding women. Each of the three products is uniquely formulated to closely match the RDA requirements for each stage of early motherhood, containing the right amounts of such key ingredients as folic acid, iodine, DHA, EPA, and many others. All three products have been certified halal.

“It is of utmost importance to Krona to offer to all women of childbearing age high quality products that help prevent abnormal brain development and other birth defects. This includes our commitment to Muslim mothers. The Halal certification process was very efficient and we are proud to have successfully completed it,” said Angel Biaggi, President of Krona.

IFANCA President, Muhammad Munir Chaudry, PhD states: “We are delighted to help bring these products to the global community. Children are our future and these products should help meet the nutrition needs of their mothers, giving the newborns a healthier advantage.”
