DSM Awarded “Company of the Year” by the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America

DSM has been selected as the Company of the Year by the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA). The award recognizes DSM’s outstanding Halal compliance, implementation and program of label control for Halal logo and markings. Stephan Heck, Senior Director Quality Management, is to receive the award at a banquet dinner on behalf of DSM today, during IFANCA’s 17th International Halal Food Conference, IL, US.
The number of Halal consumers is increasing and has now reached 1.6 billion1, making Halal food, beverage and dietary supplement products one of the fastest growing consumer segments in the world. DSM has liaised with Halal certification bodies to develop and implement a Halal policy and management system to ensure its nutritional ingredients meet the stringent Halal requirements.
