Bangkok, Thailand- The Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA®), took part in a landmark international summit organized by the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand (CICOT) in Bangkok.
The summit brought together halal certifying bodies from across the globe to formalize Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs), a milestone initiative designed to harmonize halal certification practices, reduce duplication in certification processes, and foster greater collaboration among global halal authorities.
“Participating in this historic summit reflects IFANCA’s ongoing commitment to building a unified global halal ecosystem,” said Dr. Chaudry. “These agreements are essential for ensuring consistency, integrity, and consumer confidence in halal-certified products worldwide.”
The Bangkok summit also highlighted Thailand’s growing role in halal leadership, as CICOT prepares to host the Bangkok Halal Expo 2026. This event is expected to serve as a major international platform for dialogue on halal trade, standards, and innovation.
